What exactly is the Global Citizens Group?
The Global Citizens Group is a youth-led initiative, built by and for young people, to develop the skills needed to create social ventures that address community challenges. It is founded in partnership with Deloitte Australia, Xplore for Success, UNAA Young Professionals, WEF Global Shapers Sydney Hub, and Roceteer.
How is the Group run?
The Group operates through a top-down and bottom-up model, where founding organisations provide strategic guidance via a Board of Advisors. At the same time, accredited Global Citizens collectively shape and own the Group through a shared governance model.
What makes the Group different from others?
While many organisations focus on advocacy or awareness, we prioritise building practical skills and training for action. We equip young people to lead and deliver real-world solutions, not just engage with ideas.
Why 'Global Citizen'?
Being a Global Citizen means thinking beyond borders while taking action locally. It reflects the reality that today’s challenges are interconnected and require globally minded solutions.
How can you be involved?
Organisations can partner with us and become part of the Group’s Board of Advisors to support and scale impact.
Individuals can Pitch to us, following which they will be invited to join our twice-yearly program to refine their a social venture concept further. Graduates become part of the Global Citizens Group, with opportunities to contribute further and upgrade their skillset.
We also offer Specialist roles for experienced mentors.
